GUIDELINES
ISS guidelines for engaging intimacy professionals
Professional Intimacy Practice for the stage and screen requires clear and concise protocols detailing the engagement of an Intimacy Director or Coordinator in accordance with a production. We have produced these guidelines with the support of the Equity Intimacy Working Group to provide a comprehensive intimacy practice document for our industry. These documents are written from our professional perspective and experience with support from other respected industry professionals. Thank you to everyone who has contributed as we work together to make the entertainment industry a safer place for everyone.
ISS ADvice for performers
Intimacy for Stage and Screen have recently released Intimacy Guidelines 'Advice for Performers' supported by the Equity Intimacy Working Group.
We know that Performers have experienced many concerns, doubts and worries performing Intimacy Scenes in the past. Thankfully, with the Introduction of Intimacy Directors and Coordinators these fears can now be put to rest but there are also ways in which Perfomers can advocate for themselves and others in the creation of safe storytelling. Our 'Advice for Performers' document covers the rights and responsibilities of a Performer as well as providing lists of resources available regarding the latest Industry Guidelines and information about well-being. This document is designed to cover Performers who engage with scenes of intimacy in both Live Performance and Film/TV.
