Simone is an Intimacy Director certified with the ISS (Intimacy for Stage and Screen) based in Malta/Europe. She is also a theatre practitioner with experience in acting, directing and scriptwriting. She has extensive experience as an improviser and improvisation teacher. She has been exploring ways of making intimacy safe for improvisers and has developed workshops that allow improvisers to dig deeper in their scenes and express intimacy naturally and safely. She has also developed workshops to portray intimacy online.
Simone has a background in Shakespeare and stage combat and has an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. Her acting credits in Malta include Dr. Martha Livingstone in Agnes of God, Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible. She has also performed in Brussels, playing Regan, King Lear, Duchess of Gloucester, Richard II, Widow, All’s Well that Ends Well, Lady Macduff, Macbeth, Sue Bayliss, All My Sons, Mrs. Allwit, A Chaste Maid in Cheapside. She helped coordinate the fights in King Lear, Richard II, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Her play The Garden won the Best Script award at the MADC’s One-Act Play Festival in 2019. |
Lucy Fennell is an intimacy director and theatre maker specialising in improvisation. She has trained in Lecoq, clowning and bouffon, as well as extensively in improvised theatre. She is also a qualified teacher and sex educator specialising in working with students with SEMH.
Lucy is a founding member of 'Impromptu Shakespeare' and is an associate director at the Bristol Improv Theatre. She is interested in cultivating authentic, candid improvised work which has the capacity to jolt and surprise both audience and improviser. As part of this she is committed to creating an empowering, open space for participants to discover, learn and be inspired. |
Robbie is an Intimacy Director based between New Zealand and the UK. He's a graduate of the Mercury Theatre's Early Career Training Programme, and has undertaken training with Frantic Assembly and the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He's passionate about facilitating realistic and creative representations of intimacy involving LGBTQIA+ characters, and supporting the needs of queer creatives during the staging or filming of any intimate content. He also has extensive experience working with young people in theatres.
He has run introductory Intimacy workshops for actors and directors at drama schools (LAMDA, RADA), Universities (Victoria University, Carnegie Mellon University) and theatres (BATS Theatre). His Intimacy Direction credits include: Rotterdam (LAMDA), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (Gryphon Theatre), Celestial Nobodies (BATS Theatre). His assistant credits include: Hole (Circa Theatre), Ophelia Thinks Harder (Gryphon Theatre), and The Winter's Tale (LAMDA). As a Director and Assistant Director, he’s worked on the West End, Off-West End, and at regional venues. |
